Meryl Fury, MS, RN, is a public health nurse with 30+ years of experience, specializing in leadership and supporting vulnerable populations. She transitioned from patient care to focus on food as medicine, holding certification in plant-based nutrition from eCornell. Meryl is the President/CEO of Plant Based Nutrition Movement (PBNM), a non-profit in the Chicagoland area dedicated to educating at-risk communities about the health benefits of plant-based diets. She serves on the Medical Advisory Board of the T. Colin Campbell Center for Nutrition Studies and is a Food for Life Instructor with the Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine.
Meryl is also a member of the American College of Lifestyle Medicine and current Secretary of the Health Equity Achieved through Lifestyle Medicine (HEAL) Initiative. She founded the 6 Million Seeds Child Nutrition Project, co-founded More Plants on Plates USA (a plant-based school lunch initiative), and co-leads Culinary Medicine 4 Sickle Cell Warriors. Passionate about children’s health, Meryl advocates for nutrition and Lifestyle Medicine nationwide, addressing critical gaps in how we feed children.
