Bio: Dr. John McHugh
Dr. John McHugh is a graduate of Columbia College and Harvard Medical School. In 1995, he followed his childhood dream of moving to California and trained in obstetrics and gynecology (ObGyn) at the University of California, San Francisco. Dr. McHugh has been on the faculty of UCSD, UCI, and USC’s Medical Schools and served as Department Chair at Scripps Mercy Hospital in San Diego. He also served as Chair for the American College of Ob-Gyn District IX (California and Ecuador), representing over 6,000 physicians.
His interests have always been improving patients' health and wellness through evidence-based care. He has served as chair for the Preconception Health Council of California and co-founded the Women's Health Group for the American College of Lifestyle Medicine, which addresses the fundamental role nutrition, exercise, and sleep play in health outcomes. He has published numerous peer-reviewed articles and book chapters and presented on the role of sleep and lifestyle on patient and physician health at national and international meetings.
