Dr Sunil Kumar is an Anaesthesiologist and Foundation Year Doctors Programme Director at University Hospitals of Morecambe Bay NHS Trust, UK. He is Board-Certified in Lifestyle Medicine (US & UK) and serves as the Lifestyle Medicine Lead at the WHO Collaborating Centre for Public Health Education and Training at Imperial College London, where he also leads the Centre’s first-ever Lifestyle Medicine Fellowship. He holds an Honorary Senior Clinical Lectureship in the School of Public Health and Primary Care at Imperial College London.
Dr Kumar advises the Centre for Perioperative Care on integrating Lifestyle Medicine into surgical prehabilitation and is a Council Member of the Royal Society of Medicine (Food & Health Forum). He is the Lifestyle Medicine Ambassador and Lead at the Personalised Care Institute, and faculty for NHS England, the University of Thessaly (Greece), and the European Lifestyle Medicine Organisation (ELMO).
He is the bestselling author of The Power of Self-Care and The Power of Preparation for Surgery, a founding member of the Lifestyle Medicine Initiative at the Global Wellness Institute, and Workplace Wellbeing Group Leader at the Forbes Coaches Council. Nationally recognised for his award-winning physician well-being programmes, he is also a sought-after international keynote speaker.
