Administrator U.S. Department of Health and Human Services
In this session, HRSA Administrator Tom Engels will discuss how the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) supports lifestyle medicine approaches through policy, funding, and workforce development as part of Secretary Kennedy’s Make America Healthy Again (MAHA) initiative. Participants will gain insights into HRSA-funded programs — including community health centers, telehealth expansion, behavioral health integration, and workforce initiatives — that aim to prevent chronic disease, improve access to quality care, and strengthen population health outcomes in medically underserved communities.
Learning Objectives:
Describe HRSA’s role in advancing lifestyle medicine and preventive care within community-based health systems.
Identify HRSA-supported programs that expand telehealth, integrate behavioral health, and address chronic disease prevention.
Recognize opportunities to leverage federal initiatives to improve patient outcomes and support healthier communities.
