Dr. Rich Dal Col, MD, MPH, is President of MVP Health Care, a regional, not-for-profit health insurer, where he leads the organization’s transformation into a proactive, whole‑person health and wellness partner. With more than 20 years of executive leadership experience across health plans, health systems, and community‑based organizations, Dr. Dal Col brings a unique blend of clinical expertise, strategic vision, and operational discipline to advancing healthier outcomes at scale.
Under his leadership, MVP Health Care has introduced a comprehensive Whole Person Health strategy that integrates lifestyle medicine, innovative clinical programs, and personalized care models to support members across every stage of life. His approach emphasizes prevention, behavior change, and customer‑centered experiences—shifting care upstream to improve outcomes, enhance quality of life, and reduce avoidable costs. Central to this work is a strong focus on provider collaboration, expanded access to specialty services, and the use of data‑driven insights to deliver highly personalized, “N‑of‑1” care.
Dr. Dal Col has also led significant operational and process redesign initiatives, eliminating inefficiencies and reinvesting resources into continuous improvement and long‑term strategic priorities. These efforts have strengthened MVP’s ability to deliver high‑value care while remaining responsive to the evolving needs of the communities it serves.
Prior to joining MVP Health Care, Dr. Dal Col served as Enterprise Chief Medical Officer at EmblemHealth, overseeing clinical operations for one of the nation’s largest nonprofit health plans, serving more than 3.1 million members. Earlier in his career, he held executive and clinical leadership roles at organizations including Capital District Physicians’ Health Plan (CDPHP), Champlain Valley Physicians Hospital, Hudson Headwaters Health Network, Adirondack Health Institute, and St. Peter’s Hospital. Across these roles, he consistently drove improvements in quality, population health, risk management, and cost stewardship while building high‑performing, mission‑driven teams.
Dr. Dal Col earned his Doctor of Medicine from Albany Medical College, a Master of Public Health from the University at Albany (SUNY), and a Bachelor of Science from Le Moyne College. He is widely recognized as a collaborative, values‑driven leader and a strong advocate for lifestyle medicine as a critical pillar in the future of health care delivery.
