Dr. Davena Norris is a board-certified lifestyle medicine professional and Pharmacist Clinician based in Las Cruces, New Mexico. She earned her Doctor of Pharmacy from the University of New Mexico and completed a PGY1 residency at the Southern Arizona VA Healthcare System.
For over a decade, Dr. Norris practiced within an interprofessional family medicine residency program, providing care across inpatient and outpatient settings. Through this work, she developed expertise in managing chronic cardiometabolic conditions and witnessed both the profound impact of chronic disease and the limitations of medication-centered care.
Since becoming board-certified in 2020, she has integrated evidence-based lifestyle medicine into clinical practice, achieving meaningful improvements in patient outcomes. She has also played a key role in educating pharmacy and family medicine residents in lifestyle medicine principles.
In 2025, Dr. Norris founded the Dropseed Lifestyle Medicine Center, where she leads both individual and group-based programs designed to address the root causes of chronic disease through community, movement, and food as medicine.
Throughout her career, Dr. Norris has been recognized for leadership and excellence in teaching. She was named an Emerging Leader by the University of New Mexico College of Pharmacy in 2021 and received the national Distinguished Preceptor Award from the American Association of Colleges of Pharmacy in 2024.
Dr. Norris is passionate about advancing the role of lifestyle medicine in clinical practice and has presented on topics including Exercise as Medicine; Lifestyle Medicine, Deprescribing, and Remission of Type 2 Diabetes; and Fiber: A Powerful Tool for Metabolic Health. She also served as a panelist on the “Stump the Stars” session at the 2025 ACLM Conference.
