Dr. Kerry Reding, Professor at the University School of Nursing and Associate Professor at the Fred Hutch Cancer Center, conducts research focused on women's health, cancer survivorship, cardio-oncology, and longevity. Her work has focused on lifestyle factors - physical activity, nutrition, sleep, social support - in relation to chronic disease prevention, symptom amelioration in breast cancer survivors, and health span. Dr. Reding has been involved with the Women’s Health Initiative (WHI) study, having led research through NIH-funded WHI Ancillary Studies and has published (as first- and senior-authors) multiple research reports of original research and review articles in the WHI; she is currently Co-Lead of the WHI Cancer Special Interest Group and Co-Lead of the WHI Cardio-Oncology working group. Her teaching roles include serving as the lead instructor for Health Promotion courses in the UW DNP program and in UW undergraduate curriculum, Research Methods for graduate students in the UW School of Nursing. and School of Public Health, and leading a study abroad program to Italy. She is the Co-Founder and Scientific Director at Immersive Explorations, a group that delivers CME programs in Sardinia, Tuscany, and Lake Como, Italy for health professionals (which count as a CME event toward ACLM certification). She is a national speaker on the topics of lifestyle factors in relation to cardio-oncology and longevity.
