Dr. Alicia Craig-Rodriguez, DNP, MBA, APRN, FNP-BC, DipACLM is a nationally board- certified Family Nurse Practitioner, Clinical Professor, and visionary leader in integrative health and academic innovation. She serves as the Entrepreneur-in-Residence and Jonas Nurse Leader Scholar at Florida State University’s College of Nursing, where she is transforming the future of nursing through lifestyle and functional medicine education.
A pioneer in the academic integration of lifestyle medicine, Dr. Craig-Rodriguez led the development and successful launch of two groundbreaking programs at FSU: the Post- Master’s Certificate in Lifestyle Medicine and the Doctor of Nursing Practice in Lifestyle
Medicine, one of the first of its kind in the nation. As Creator and Coordinator of the Lifestyle Medicine Program, she has positioned FSU as the nation’s first academic institution to offer a full educational pathway to certification through the American College of Lifestyle Medicine (ACLM). In recognition of her innovative teaching and national impact, she was recently honored with the FSU College of Nursing 2025 Dean’s Award for Graduate Teaching Excellence.
Dr. Craig-Rodriguez is a passionate educator, clinician, and sought-after national speaker dedicated to advancing whole-person care through evidence-based lifestyle interventions. Her teaching and clinical focus include nutrition, physical activity, restorative sleep, stress management, substance use reduction, and social connection, guiding both students and patients to optimal health.
Dr. Craig-Rodriguez was instrumental for the development and launch of FSU College of Nursing’s Lifestyle Medicine Practice, where she blends lifestyle and functional medicine principles to address the root causes of chronic illness. She empowers patients to replace harmful behaviors with sustainable, health-promoting habits, helping them regain vitality and prevent disease.
Dr. Craig-Rodriguez is a lifelong learner and active advocate for interdisciplinary collaboration in health promotion. She is currently pursuing advanced certification in functional medicine through the School of Applied Functional Medicine and serves as a diplomat and Fellow of the American College of Lifestyle Medicine. Her academic and professional affiliations include the American College of Lifestyle Medicine American Association of Nurse Practitioners, Sigma Theta Tau International, the Florida Nurse Practitioner Network, and the Tallahassee Council of Advanced Practice Nurses.
Her educational background spans both the arts and sciences, including a Bachelor of Arts in English/Communication and an MBA from the University of South Florida, a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Central Florida, and a Doctor of Nursing Practice from Florida State University.
