David Michael MD is a board-certified general internist and Lifestyle Medicine physician with over 30 years of experience in primary care and clinical informatics. At ECU Health he currently splits his time between two roles, Associate Chief Medical Information Officer and Medical Director of the Lifestyle Medicine Clinic. A pioneer in integrating informatics with preventive care, Dr. Michael was the first Chief Medical Informatics Officer at ECU Health, where he led the system-wide implementation of Epic and numerous digital health innovations.

Board-certified in Clinical Informatics (ABPM) and Lifestyle Medicine, Dr. Michael is a thought leader in the application of technology to improve chronic disease outcomes. He has collaborated with the American College of Lifestyle Medicine (ACLM) and Epic to standardize lifestyle medicine documentation and workflows int the EHR. His work bridges clinical care, informatics, and population health, with a focus on empowering patients and transforming health systems.
