Tassa is a dedicated and accomplished Registered Kinesiologist who earned her Bachelor of Science degree from Simon Fraser University. During her undergraduate studies, she was a proud member of the Women's Varsity Swim Team, which provided her the opportunity to compete at venues across Canada and the United States. Her background in competitive sports has honed her resilience, discipline, and tenacity, qualities she now applies to achieving her professional goals.
Tassa began her career as a personal trainer in Vancouver, working with clients of all ages and fitness levels. Her approachable and non-judgmental demeanour, combined with her emphasis on meeting clients where they are in their fitness journey, allowed her to successfully integrate exercise into their lives.
Currently, Tassa is a key contributor at My Viva Plan, where she develops and curates evidence-based fitness content for the platform. Her work focuses on distilling complex fitness concepts into accessible and actionable formats to empower users in their health and wellness journeys.
In addition, Tassa serves as a clinician for research studies conducted in collaboration with the University of Alberta. In this capacity, she designs and leads group fitness sessions, aiming to educate participants on overcoming common barriers to exercise. Her sessions emphasize providing diverse options for activities in various modes and settings, making physical activity more attainable and sustainable.
Tassa finds immense fulfillment in her role, as it allows her to combine her passion for exercise with a commitment to education. By inspiring individuals to regain control of their health, she empowers them to lead holistically healthier lives—an endeavor that brings her both professional and personal joy.
