Julia Hotz is the author of THE CONNECTION CURE -- the world's first book on the science, stories, and spread of social prescribing.
She's also an advisor to Social Prescribing USA and a solutions focused journalist, with stories The New York Times, WIRED, Scientific American, The Boston Globe, Time, BBC, The Wall Street Journal and more. She helps other journalists report on the big new ideas changing the world at the Solutions Journalism Network. For her advocacy in the social prescribing community, she has been invited to deliver TEDx talks, keynote speeches, and medical school lectures, to advise community organizations and healthcare panels, and to create multimedia content for the social prescribing movement.
As a graduate of the University of Cambridge in England and a former Fulbright Scholar in Greece, Julia has lived all around the world, and loves learning about the ways different cultures treat health. Before becoming a journalist, Julia worked as a teacher, bartender, pizza server, and summer camp “forest ranger” (long story).
