Paola Rossi, MD, MSEd, is the Clinical Program Director in Lifestyle Medicine at Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center, University of Miami. With certification in culinary medicine and a background in exercise physiology, Dr. Rossi is dedicated to integrating lifestyle interventions across the cancer care continuum to improve health outcomes for patients.
Her clinical and research focus revolves around the implementation of evidence-based lifestyle medicine programs, particularly in exercise and nutrition. She led the development of the Lifestyle Medicine Prevention Clinic within the cancer center, which provides behavioral change support to patients at higher risk of developing cancer. Through her leadership, she has contributed significantly to the development and growth of impactful programs such as the "Believe in You" program, which supports cancer survivors through tailored physical activity and nutritional guidance, and the Sylvester Food Pharmacy, which addresses food insecurity as part of survivorship care.
Dr. Rossi's commitment to advancing lifestyle medicine extends to her work in standardizing nutrition and exercise physiology services within Sylvester's support programs. Her multidisciplinary approach ensures that cancer patients receive comprehensive care that enhances their quality of life.
Prior to her current role, Dr. Rossi practiced as a Family Physician and Palliative Care Physician in Argentina, gaining extensive experience in patient-centered care. Additionally, as an Assistant Professor at Instituto Universitario CEMIC, she provided mentorship and education in lifestyle medicine, emphasizing its role in chronic disease management.
Fluent in both Spanish and English, Dr. Rossi is passionate about promoting evidence-based lifestyle medicine practices and empowering cancer patients to lead healthier lives through nutrition, physical activity, and mindful living.
