Dr. Amy Comander is a breast oncologist at Massachusetts General Hospital Cancer Center, where she serves as Director of Breast Oncology and Survivorship at MGH Waltham and Newton Wellesley Hospital. She is also Director of Lifestyle Medicine, leading the first cancer center-based lifestyle medicine program. She is dedicated to integrating evidence-based tools from lifestyle medicine into cancer survivorship, with the goal to empower individuals with breast cancer to improve quality of life and outcome through exercise, diet, and mind-body practices. In collaboration with Dr. Beth Frates, Dr. Comander created “PAVING the Path to Wellness” for breast cancer survivors. This program is a 12-week program for breast cancer survivors which provides education about evidence based tools from lifestyle medicine. She was honored to be the first oncologist to serve on the Board of the American College of Lifestyle Medicine. She is currently a Board member for the nonprofit, the Ellie Fund.She is Medical Advisor to SBC.org.
