This panel discussion brings together national leaders shaping the levers that influence whether lifestyle medicine can scale payment policy, quality measurement, preventive health and digital/AI infrastructure. Moderated by ACLM President, Dr. Padmaja Patel, this session will connect the dots between how CMS is modernizing Medicare payment and testing innovation models that can better support root cause, prevention and whole-person care; how the quality measurement ecosystem is evolving toward prevention-oriented metrics; and how health IT policy, interoperability, and responsible AI can reduce clinician burden while enabling workflow-integrated lifestyle data capture and decision support.

Panelists will share practical implications and opportunities for lifestyle medicine clinicians and health systems to lead healthcare innovation — such as emerging payment and reimbursement pathways for LM, translating lifestyle medicine outcomes into credible and scalable quality measures, and leveraging digital tools (including AI) to support behavior change, patient engagement, and longitudinal tracking of the lifestyle interventions’ impact on chronic disease.
